Disrupting the Noah’s Ark Approach to DEI: Creating a Culture of Inclusion

Date Thursday, June 16, 2022
Time: 9:45 a.m.

According to Bible scholars, there are no unicorns left in the world because they never made it on to the Ark. It is thought that they were running late or they had a disagreement with Noah. No one is quite sure. The point is that who knows how many other creatures missed the boat! In The Loudest Duck by Laura Liswood, she writes that at some point, corporate diversity came to mean the inclusion of at least two of every kind. Far too many believe that if you cram two people of each underrepresented group into a company or a boardroom, you have accomplished the task of creating a diverse work environment.

Panelists: Punam Kaji, Senior Legal Counsel, Fidelity Investments; Daryl Dorsey, Director and Senior Attorney, American Airlines; Stevan Verkin, Vice President Legal, Global Counsel & Real Estate, TechnipFMC; Nadia E Haghighatian, Partner, Holland & Knight; LaCrecia Perkins, Associate, Winstead PC; Avvennett M. Gezahan, Associate, Marson Marvel Bradley Anderson & Tardy LLC

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance."

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
