05.24.23

Join Winstead attorneys at the ULI Austin May Breakfast: Housing Austin’s Homeless. The event will discuss how Austin and the surrounding communities continue to be challenged by the difficult issue of homelessness. Join ULI Austin for our May breakfast to hear from those working directly towards reducing the homeless population in Austin and how the real estate community can help.

Date: Wednesday, May 24, 2023
Time: 7:30 – 9:00 a.m.
Location: Austin Central Library, Austin, TX

Winstead Attendees: Garrett Bell, Mary Hager, Laney Howard

The panel will discuss options, strategies and services that can help provide successful housing solutions for our homeless population. Recognizing the inherent limitations that local governments face in implementing solutions, the panel will also consider how public/private partnerships – formal or informal – might provide more wholistic solutions. The Cady Lofts development offers a model for addressing the issue from the private side, while the North Bridge and South Bridge facilities have created a new level of support and services for unsheltered residents.

Panelists:

Sally Gaskin, President, SGI Ventures, Inc.,

Michael Gerber, President & CEO, Housing Authority of City of Austin

Dianna Grey, Homeless Strategy Officer at City of Austin

Matthew Mollica, Executive Director, ECHO

Moderator: Shuronda Robinson, CEO, Austin Woman Magazine

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance."

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
