Winstead Provides Holiday Meals and Gifts to Students at John H. Reagan Elementary School

Winstead PC is pleased to announce that the firm has continued its tradition of bringing holiday cheer to the fourth and fifth grade students at John H. Reagan Elementary School in Dallas. The firm has partnered with the school for more than a decade to provide gifts during the holiday season. 
 
In lieu of the firm’s annual holiday party that was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Winstead donated meals to the families of fourth and fifth grade students at the school. The holiday dinners included nine-pound spiral cut pre-cooked hams from Costco Business Center (WHSE 655), canned goods, potatoes, rolls, and fresh fruits and vegetables. The meals were hand-delivered by Winstead employees and representatives from Costco Business Center to Reagan Elementary School.
 
“We have so much to be thankful for, while there are many members of our community who struggle and face choices each day regarding how to provide healthy meals and comfortable homes for their families,” said Howard Mudrick, Executive Director at Winstead. “We have an opportunity here to do well by doing good.”
 
In addition, Winstead employees donated approximately $5,000 to help purchase 300 pairs of earbuds for the students to enhance their experience when attending class remotely, 300 water bottles, and 87 boxes of puzzles. The Costco Business Center donated 300 backpacks, and DocumentWorks donated 100 laptop covers for student Chrome Books. All shipping costs for the laptop covers were donated by Halo Branded Solutions.
 
“It is so inspiring to watch local businesses like Winstead, Costco Business Center, DocumentWorks and Halo Branded Solutions come together to support our students,” said Ruth Román-Meza, Principal of John H. Reagan Elementary School. “What these businesses are saying with their generosity to the students is that their community cares for them, and that is an impactful message to receive at a young age.”
 
The pandemic has brought significant challenges for students and their families. Virtual school proved to be difficult for many parents who struggled to balance full-time jobs while teaching their children who are trying to adjust to a new way of learning. In some areas, resources are scarce and the financial burden is mounting. Now more than ever, Winstead is proud to support this great school in our community.
