Melissa Ruman Stewart and Andy Dow Elected to the Firm’s Board of Directors

DALLAS, TX, June 14, 2021 – Winstead PC, a leading national business law firm, announced that shareholders Melissa Ruman Stewart and Andy Dow have been elected to the firm’s Board of Directors.

Melissa Ruman Stewart

Melissa is a Dallas based shareholder who joined Winstead in 1991 and serves as the Chair of the firm’s Finance & Lending and Syndicated Finance Practice Groups. She is licensed in both Texas and New York, and has represented both lenders and companies in middle-market and large syndicated loan transactions and real estate secured finance since the inception of her practice. Melissa routinely handles dollar and multicurrency national and international complex corporate financing, including tiered lending, secured transactions, real estate lending, media and telecom finance. She has also represented many companies in a wide variety of corporate transactions, including acquisition, disposition and financing.

Melissa earned her B.A. from Newcomb College of Tulane University and her J.D. from Tulane University School of Law.

Andy Dow

Andy joined the firm in 1993 and is a Dallas based shareholder and Chair of Winstead’s Real Estate Industry Group. His practice focuses on real estate development and investment specializing in healthcare, university and life sciences facilities, hospitality and airlines. He has a reputation for finding the proper balance between legal issues and his clients’ business objectives, allowing him to craft efficient, creative, and economical solutions to the complex issues his clients encounter.

Andy attended Dallas Baptist University, where he earned his B.B.A., and the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University, where he earned his J.D.

This announcement follows the recent appointment of Jordan Ware as the new Managing Shareholder of the firm’s Austin office.
