Grant Pryor is a member of Winstead’s Finance & Lending Practice Group. Grant's practice focuses on representing clients in the energy industry with particular experience in matters related to energy law and the acquisition and disposition of real property interests.
Prior to joining Winstead, Grant served as Senior Counsel to a Dallas based private equity investment management firm. As in-house counsel, Grant had primary responsibility for legal oversight of the firm’s acquisition and disposition of real property interests in oil and gas projects, solar projects, water management projects, and wind projects. In that role, Grant negotiated, managed, and handled all facets of hundreds of various real property transactions, including title due diligence, acquisition, development, leasing, and disposition. Additionally, as in-house counsel, Grant advised the firm in oil and gas title litigation matters. The multifaceted experience provided Grant unique insight into the practice of law from the perspective of the practical realities of a running business.
Prior to going in-house, Grant spent 10 years advising publicly traded companies in the acquisition and development of property in Oklahoma and Texas, and drafting the title opinions, curative instruments and other transactional documents.
Representative Experience
- Led and advised in closings of hundreds of oil and gas mineral and leasehold transactions totaling in excess of $769.2 million in acquisitions and $930 million in dispositions, including negotiating and drafting favorable terms in related assignments, deeds and purchase and sale agreements.
- Led closings of real property in solar energy projects, water management projects, and wind energy projects, including analyzing survey and title issues, and negotiating and drafting favorable terms in the related assignments, deeds, easements, estoppels, options and purchase and sale agreements.
